Davis Legacy is excited to announce the hiring of coach Simon Elliott as a key member of our leadership team.
Simon will initially serve as the Head Coach of the Boys 06 Red Team while he transitions into the role of Director of the Boys Program starting in May of this year. Jesus Mata will then move from his current role as Director of the Boys Program into Director of the Girls Program (the spot that Ashley Yudin was filling on an interim basis). Ashley will serve as the Club’s Ambassador and continue to help guide coaches, players and directors alike both on and off the field. David Robertson will remain as the Executive Director, Nate Boyden will remain Technical Director, and Alex Park will remain as the Director Of Operations.
Speaking of the new leadership structure, Executive Director David Robertson comments,
“We are confident that the technical background, qualifications and experience of our leadership team, sets us apart, and gives us the platform to continue to develop our coaches and players at the optimum level”
According to Nate Boyden, Davis Legacy Technical Director:
“Simon brings with him a wealth of experience. He is one of the select few coaches in the US who has received their Pro License through the United States Soccer Federation. His playing career includes notable stints in Major League Soccer, the English Premier League, and as a player with New Zealand at the 2010 World Cup. He was most recently Academy Director at the Sacramento Republic before being named Head Coach of the First Team for the 2018 and 2019 seasons. We are very fortunate and grateful to be able to bring in Simon to work at Davis Legacy and share his knowledge, expertise, and wisdom with the players and coaches alike”
Speaking about his reasons why he chose Davis Legacy, Simon commented:
“Davis Legacy is a club that is part of the local community and puts its players first. I’m grateful to be able to play a role in helping develop the next generation of players at Davis Legacy”
On behalf of everyone at Davis Legacy please welcome Simon Elliott to the Legacy family!
