The best first soccer experience in Davis

The Davis Legacy Soccer Club U6–U8 Development Program, also known as the Grassroots Program, is a player-centered program for 5 to 7 year olds focused on building a strong soccer foundation.

The program teaches skill moves, guiding and dribbling, using both feet, and scoring, while increasing coordination and athleticism. Most importantly, players have fun and build a love for the beautiful game.

Perfect for first-time players. No experience needed. Kids build skills and confidence while having fun with friends in an encouraging environment.

Program overview

Who Boys and girls aged 5–7 years old
Practice Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday, 5:30–6:30 PM. Two sessions per week focused on fun skill development.
Game days Saturday mornings, plus the occasional Friday evening. Legacy Game Days feature small-sided games where players apply what they learned during the week in a fun, game-focused environment.

Sessions

What a typical session looks like

Each session is designed to keep kids active, engaged, and having fun:

  1. Fun warm-up games. Get moving and ready to play.
  2. Skills activities & drills. Practice dribbling, passing, and shooting.
  3. Conditioned small-sided games. Apply skills in short, focused games.
  4. Scrimmage. Play with teammates in a game-like environment.

Young players learn best through play, so every session includes lots of touches on the ball, constant movement, and opportunities for decision-making in real time.

Advanced

Advanced play option

For players who are ready for more competition, our U6–U8 program offers a team-based league experience in the NorCal U8 7v7 League.

  • Each team is led by its own dedicated coach, ensuring consistent instruction and guidance
  • Players train with their teammates during the week and compete in matches against other clubs on weekends
  • Ideal for kids who want to challenge themselves, build skills faster, and experience structured competition in a positive, fun environment
