Called into United States U18 National Team
Davis Legacy 95’s (U16) Anna Maria Gilbertson has been called into the U18 National Team Camp March 12-19 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA. Gilbertson was included in the 24 member squad for the first time in her career and stems from a successful stint at the ID2 national team camp in Florida in January. Said Gilbertson “Its an honor to be called up, and I want to thank all my coaches and especially my family for helping me get this opportunity and obtain my goal and dream of possibly playing for the United States at the World Cup.”
US Soccer Technical Director April Hienrechs scouted Gilbertson at the Disney Soccer Showcase in Orlando, FL where Gilbertson let the Legacy 95’s to the tournaments final match in the Showcase Division of the tournament.
“We are very proud of Gilbertson and her accomplishments at this soccer club, her dedication to getting better each day has led to this very prestigious honor, we wish her the best of luck next week,” said coach Mark Torguson.
The USA U18’s are coached by Dave Chesler, next week camp will feature an international match against a TBA opponent. Training will take place at the Home Depot Center, the official training site of the LA Galaxy and Chivas USA.
